At your first session, your therapist will spend some time learning about your background, your needs and what you hope to gain from therapy. You’ll also learn more about how your therapist works, and they will answer any questions you may have. If you feel that it is a good fit with your therapist, together you will develop a plan to move forward so they can best support you in the issues you’re struggling with.
To provide consistency, your therapist will generally schedule your therapy session at the same time each week.
